“This is Halloween…”

Halloween has finally come and gone. There’s is little doubt that it is our favorite time of year and that everyone else knows it! Because of that, Lulu received many cute outfits and hats to celebrate the season. Here are just a few of her spooky-cute looks!

With Halloween being on Friday this year we didn’t know what the night would hold in store for our little town. The police brought in lots of reinforcements and we all thought it was just going to explode with people. In the end, it was not a very rowdy crowd at all.

Normally Forrest and I would gleefully be in the middle of all the madness, but with Lulu in tow we almost expected to stay in the house in hiding. Because of that we didn’t really plan out costumes this year, but at the last minute we decided to pull something together.

We had a lot of people stop to take pictures of us (and with us) for the time that we were outside. A lot of people were actually surprised to realize that Lulu was a real baby, but it was the only way I could think to logically incorporate her into my costume without requiring the stroller.

Most people thought it was really cool. The contrast of my sinister appearance and her innocent sweetness really worked. Some were not so supportive, convinced she’d be scarred for life. For the most part we were commended for being a “cool” family.

She was incredibly good for the whole night, considering she was stuck in the sling for the majority of it. If she wasn’t asleep, she just looked around at all there was to see. Everyone commented on how beautiful she was (and truth be told it she probably looked even more so due to my frightening visage).

Next year we’ll probably have to have costumes that are a bit more benevolent. Since she’ll be more aware of what’s going on around her, I doubt if I went into her room looking as I did this year that she would greet me with a giant smile.  I guess it’s a good thing I have a full year to think about it. I don’t know how to do a costume that’s not creepy!
