Beebop-a-Lula

Christmas came and went in a mere blink of an eye. Lulu’s first Christmas was indeed a great one. She was surrounded by lots of  family members who were very excited to hang out with her. She was  happy the whole time and put on a good show of smiles and giggles for the whole family. She even showed off that sliver of tooth that popped through a few days beforehand!

Christmas morning she had lots of fun hanging out with her aunties while everyone opened presents. Lulu looked lovely with a bow on her head and a candy filled, plastic candy cane to play with!

All in all it was an enjoyable Christmas. While she may be too young to understand or even remember the holiday this year, we will remember this one with much fondness and look forward to the Christmas’ to come!

There’s nothing quite like being snowed in for an entire weekend a mere few days before Christmas. We spent a lot of fun, quality time together. This morning we discovered that Lulu’s first tooth has cut through! It’s just a little sliver that’s showing, but when you run your finger over her gums, you can feel something sharp peeking through. She really is growing before our very eyes!

Auntie Mellie came for a visit. Lulu liked grabbing a handful of that long hair!

We had fun this weekend, despite the touch of cabin fever. Here’s hoping it doesn’t snow again anytime soon!

Today was a nice little “gift”. Due to the whopper snowstorm in progress Lulu and Dad stayed home and Mom went into work for a few short hours. Then we spent the rest of the day together. So fun!

Lulu spent a lot of time playing on the floor. She loves her little floor gym, playing with all the dangling toys. And now that she’s rolling over she does so quite frequently. She also has discovered that she has a voice and can make noise. Lots of noise. Loud noise. Her new thing is to roll over onto her belly, little feet kicking away behind her and she just yells as loud as she can. Mom thinks it’s funny, Dad…not so much.  One thing is for sure, this little girl is getting strong. She’s been pushing herself up and holding her head high.

Last week we were all down with the sickness. Lulu had a very bad chest cold, complete with laryngitis and hacking cough. And let’s not even get into the nose-goblins fighting to see the free world.

She definitely started feeling better over the weekend. She’d gained back her sense of humor and playfulness. I’m happy to report that we’re all on the mend and will hopefully be good and healthy for the holidays.

I don't know why, but I really enjoy doing this to my child.

Last weekend we went to see Santa! I really wasn’t quite sure how she would react to him knowing that a lot of kids are afraid of him. Not Lulu! She was infatuated with him!

Out of the 6-8 photos that were taken half of them was of her looking right up at him. She could barely tear her gaze from him unless Mom was jumping up and down like a lunatic.

And she does look like she’s flipping him off!

I wouldn’t say that Lulu has been lazy when it comes to rolling over, it’s something we’ve been practicing a lot for the past few weeks. But she has been a bit self-sabotaging in a sense. When she’d start to roll over she would counter-balance herself by extending one of her arms as she started to roll.

Tonight we were playing on the floor, she was grabbing her toes while her parents were chatting. All of a sudden she just rolled over on her own, which shut us up pretty quick. And of course, it was all she could do for the rest of the night!
