Happy St. Patrick’s Day!
Wednesday, March 18th, 2009Since Lulu is about 25% Irish, we went out for a little fun on St. Patty’s Day. Dad left work a little early and we headed over to our neighborhood pub, O’Neills for dinner. Of course, it was pretty packed in there and the irish music was nice and loud. She seemed a little overwhelmed at first but when we got a table and sat for a few minutes she was right at home. Surprisingly, she doesn’t own anything green but I found a green hair clip and managed to find some hair long enough to clip it to!
All the drunkie-bums thought she was so adorable that I was ready to smack their hands every time they tried to touch her, but she took it all in stride. She was so great during dinner, taking in all the sights and people-watching.
Honestly, being able to capture pictures of Lulu that aren’t completely blurry is somewhat of an enigma. She moves so fast and frequently that half the pics we take she’s a big blur. Well, here. This should illustrate why it’s hard to get a good picture of her!
what’s new pussycat?
Saturday, March 14th, 2009Well, things have been pretty busy around here lately. Mom no longer has a full-time job so our lives have been going through a bit of an adjustment period. Lulu had her last day of daycare a week ago and they were very sad to see her go. They said she is one of the happiest and fun babies there and even threatened to steal her away from us!
We’re all looking at this big change as a positive one and hope that it’s a blessing in disguise.
Lulu is going through another growth spurt. She is eating baby food three times a day on top of her bottle that she gets every 3-4 hours. She is starting to feel “solid” and meaty and has the cutest chubby wrists. She still shows no interest in crawling, but sits up for very long periods of time and rolls herself across the floor over and over again.
A new behavior this week is that she holds her arms out when she wants to be picked up and shows a preference when she wants Mom or Dad to hold her. She also is learning to make different sounds (ba ba ba, da da da) and yelling or squealing at different volumes, which we love when we’re out in a restaurant or coffee shop!
Here’s a big photo update since it’s been a while since our last post. Some are from our visit with Lulu’s great grandmother, hanging out with her Dad and outside for walks when the weather is nice.
